City begins trial for MyTownText

The City Council began considering signing up for a trial period of MyTownText at their Jan. 5 meeting and approved moving forward with a free three-month trial at their Jan. 19 meeting.

Currently, the city has created two lists that can be subscribed to, one for council-related notices, the other for general city alerts and notices. If the program proves successful and enough residents sign up, additional departments could be added, such as a Tea Park and Rec notification list, for example.

To read more about the program and learn how to sign up, log in to the Tea Weekly e-edition or pick up a copy of the paper. Tea Weekly is available on stands at the Tea Get N Go, Cubby's, Casey's, Sunshine and at Jimmy's Coffee House.

Subscribe to get the paper delivered right to your mailbox each week. Remember, subscribers can add e-edition access for free!
