Cold doesn’t stop Easter egg excitement

More than 300 pre-registered children and many who didn’t pre-register came to the Easter Eggstravagana March 26. The estimated 350 kids hunted for 3,500 eggs.

The eggs were mostly filled by Boy Scout Troop #99 and their parents. The stations were manned by Girl Scout Troop #50810.

Additional volunteers who helped set up and prepare for the event were: Kimberly Gass, Rachel Kloos, Jenny Vavra, Angela Kamps, Skye and Andrew Bork, and Samantha Andrews. Extra special thanks to the “Easter Bunny,” Meghan McDaniel, who was the most loved person in the park for the day.

Tea Park and Recreation would like to thank all the sponsors who made the day a reality. They include: R&R Mobility, LaurieBelle’s Boutique, New Day Massage, Tea Weekly, GrandStay Inn and Suites (donated two 10-person pool parties to raffle), Tea Ace Hardware (donated the bouncy houses), Pizza Ranch (part of donation was for the golden eggs), Tea Park and Rec, B&G Milky Way, Wild Water West (donated two day passes to the park for the raffle), and Valley Exchange Bank. If you happen to stop in any of these businesses, take a few minutes to thank them for their sponsorships.

The raffles winners who were contacted after the event were: GrandStay Inn and Suites - pool parties: Katie Sherwood and Kyle Hodnefield; Wild Water West - single day pass: Dave Render and Marta Weaver; LaurieBelle’s Boutique Basket: Rhonda Wilson; R&R Mobility Basket: Jaxon Johanneson; The door prize winners notified prior to the 5-7 year old hunt were: Cassie McDaniel, Madison Zabel, Gavin Shawd, Madison Vavra, McKenzie Ford, and Alexis Broton.

Each year the committee continues to try to make improvements to the event either by growing the opportunities to win prizes, expanding the activities and correcting identified issues. Take a couple of minutes between now and April 9 to complete the evaluation survey, which can be found at http://goo.gl/forms/bXBK87aF5m, to help planning next year’s event
