Precision Autobody will celebrate 25 years in business in Tea on Saturday with a car show and open house.
Owner Gerry Goldammer said the free car show will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“It’s come and go as you please. There will be refreshments and door prizes,” he said.
Goldammer started in the building where his current business is, located at 46927 271st St., Tea. The original building is now the middle portion of his building. They added the rear portion with a frame machine and paint booth in 2000.
Expansion continued, and they added the office in 2003. He also owns the building next door, which was built in 2003. He added a storage building in 2007.
In the beginning, he was buying repairable vehicles, mostly Toyotas, fixing them and then reselling them. Over 25 years, he has bought, repaired and sold more than 1,200 Toyota trucks.
“The majority of our business now is collision repair for insurance companies for collision damage. We also do sell a handful of vehicles we buy and fix up and sell,” he said.
His business today involves repairing all makes and models.
In 2011, they upgraded to a paint booth that bakes the paint on, just like the factory. They also use 3-D measuring for frame measurements.
“It measures the frame out to a millimeter,” he said.
Goldammer and his wife, Rosie, live in southern Sioux Falls.
