From the Tea Area School District
Thank you for your patience this evening. We had a school board meeting this evening (March 12, 2020) prior to finalizing this daily update.
The Board was updated on our work planning and communication during this meeting. We are working with other school districts and closely following the guidance of the Department of Health. We are participating in conference calls, learning sessions, and providing opportunities for staff question and answer sessions. The recommended website for the Governor's office for central communication and updated information concerning COVID-19 is https://covid.sd.gov
The District has canceled the use of our facilities by outside organizations. Friday, we will review all of the up-coming events and provide information on when they will be rescheduled or provided via an alternative service model.
Our before and after school program (TASK) is running their normal operational hours. This program is our students and does not invite others into our student’s community.
As a reminder, Friday is a half day of school as it is the end of the quarter.
Signed: Dr. Jennifer N. Lowery, Superintendent of Schools
