Naming process begins for north elementary

Construction is underway at the north elementary in Sioux Falls and the Tea Area School Board began discussing the process of choosing a name for the school at their Monday meeting.

In the past, Tea schools have simply been named according to what grade levels they served (Elementary, Intermediate, Middle and High schools). Following Harrisburg and Sioux Falls’ lead, the board will ask a small committee to gather community input and make a list of recommendations. The existing elementary may receive a new name as well, but for now, the focus is on the new building.
