2015 school year to begin after Labor Day

December 14, 2014

The Tea Area School Board approved the 2015-2016 school year calendar at their regular monthly meeting on Monday evening, Dec. 8. The north elementary is set to open next fall and to accommodate construction work at both elementary buildings, the district’s start date has been pushed back to the day after Labor Day, Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015.

Next year’s calendar was developed with input from a committee comprised of teachers from each building, two parents, administrators, board representative Kristen Daggett and Superintendent Jennifer Lowery, Ed.D. There will likely be adjustments to the schedule as no snow days are currently built in and graduation has been pushed back by a week to Sunday, May 29, 2015.
