Promoting crime-free housing

The Tea Crime Free Multi-Housing Program was established about five years ago as a way to increase protection and peace of mind for multi-housing tenants and property owners and managers. The program kicked off under the direction of Ken Haugen, the Tea Police Chief at the time, and is currently coordinated by Brian Tvedt, Tea’s longtime assistant chief of police.

The idea is to increase the likelihood that the town’s multi-housing properties, defined as residential buildings with four or more units per structure, will be properly secured and maintained to reduce instances of crime.
