Trinity’s first CommuniTea BBQ a smashing success
Just before the official start of Teapot Days last Thursday, the community was treated to a special CommuniTea BBQ event at Trinity Lutheran Church. This was the first year the free outdoor dinner has been offered and it proved wildly successful, drawing at least 450 people, if the number of plates used was a reliable measure, Pastor Wayne Gallipo said.
The church’s parking lot was packed with face painting and game stations, a seating area for eating and conversation, a kite-flying area and even an ice cream truck. The Tea Fire and Police departments each had staff on hand with official vehicles opened for exploration.
