Five Tea Area High School wrestlers headed west this past weekend to compete in the 2019 SDHSAA State A Wrestling Tournament held in Rapid City, Feb. 22-23. The Titan wrestlers came home with four medals among the top wrestlers in the state.
“We are extremely proud of the way our kids came to battle out in Rapid City,” said Titan head coach John Niesen. “They did not let adversity phase them, but pushed through and had an excellent showing at the SDHSAA State Tournament.”
At 106 pounds, Tea Area’s Quincy Hulverson continued his successful season, reaching the championship round at state.
“Quincy was a man on a mission and breezed through the first two rounds with wins by major decision and pin,” said Niesen.
