Tea Area qualifies for State One Act Play Festival

On Tuesday, Jan. 23 the Tea Area High School One Act Play cast members competed in Regions in Canton and came home with first place honors. With the first place finish, the cast punched their ticket to the One Act Play Festival which will be held at the Brandon Valley Performing Arts Center in Brandon this Friday, Feb. 2.

“Regions was the best performance I have seen out of the cast! They performed their hearts out on that stage, and I couldn’t be more excited for them to take this show to the State One Act Festival this Friday,” said One Act Play director, Brooke Palleschi. “They’ve worked incredibly hard and deserve this opportunity. Our aim is to bring a superior back to Tea Area, and individual speaking awards as well. I’m beyond proud of this entire cast and crew for embracing the challenges of this subject and show and making it as impactful and powerful as they have.”

Tea Area will perform Friday morning, Feb. 2 at 8 a.m. Performances begin on Thursday, Feb. 1 and continue through Saturday, Feb. 3. The State Festival awards ceremony is scheduled for Saturday at approximately 6:30 p.m.

At Regions, several Tea Area cast members earned Individual Speaking Awards.
