Tea FCCLA shoe drive fundraiser ends Friday
The public is invited to participate in a shoe collection drive to raise funds for Adoptive Family Grant and Birth Parent Scholarship offered through All About U Adoptions. Donations of gently worn used and new shoes will be accepted. The amount of money raised is determined by the number of shoes collected.
All donated shoes will then be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of microenterprise partners in developing nations. Funds2Orgs helps impoverished people start, maintain and grow businesses in countries such as Haiti, Honduras and other nations in Central America and Africa. Proceeds from the shoe sales are used to feed, clothe and house their families.
This is a state-wide FCCLA Service Project. The Tea FCCLA club has placed collection tubs at the following locations: TASD DEC, Tea Area Elementary School office, Tea Area Intermediate School office, Tea Area Middle/High School office, and St. Nicholas Catholic Church.
The last day to donate shoes will be Friday, April 24. The Tea Area FCCLA chapter deliver all shoes collected from Tea to the FCCLA state convention in Sioux Falls on April 26.
