Tea Steam suffers 4-0 loss to Renner
The Tea Steam were unable to solve Renner pitching on Monday, July 6, falling 4-0 to the Renner Monarchs in amateur baseball action. Renner struck first in the opening inning, capitalizing on an error to take a 1-0 lead. The Monarchs added two more runs in the third inning to extended its advantage to 3-0. The Tea Area baseball teams have enjoyed a busy week. Below is the recap for this past week: 13U TITANS The 13U Titans swept a doubleheader against Brandon Valley on Wednesday. Titan basketball team wins University of Wisconsin Team Camp Championship
The Tea Area High School boys basketball team flexed their muscles this offseason by capturing the championship at the University of Wisconsin Team Camp last week. Competing Wednesday and Thursday against teams from multiple states, the Titans put together an undefeated four-game run to claim the tournament title. Tea Area opened the championship bracket with a convincing 71-38 victory over Pecatonica, Illinois, in the Sweet 16 before advancing to the Elite Eight with a 68-40

Council approves variance for parking surface
The Tea City Council met July 6 and held a public hearing on a variance. Community development director Albert Schmidt presented information for a variance at 1601 E. 1st Street for temporary approval for a non-hard surface for the parking area along East 1st Street. He said the area would help them move product across their property without going on 1st Street. The council approved the variance. Tea Scouts honored for lifesaving actions during Kansas City emergency
Three members of Tea’s Scout Troop 99 were recently recognized for their quick thinking and lifesaving actions after coming to the aid of an injured man during the troop’s return trip from summer camp last year. The Scouts were honored during the troop’s Court of Honor in May of this year for their actions on June 28, 2025, at the National World War I Museum and Memorial in Kansas City, Missouri. Lauriebelles boutique to wind down operations
A locally based boutique with more than 1 million online followers is winding down its operations. Lauriebelles plans to close its storefront in Tea next month while launching a final collection online.
