Titan baseball ends season with loss to Harrisburg in Super Regionals
The No. 16 seed Tea Area Titans saw their 2026 baseball season come to an end on Friday, May 15, as they traveled to face top-seeded Harrisburg in the Class A Super Regional Tournament. In the best-of-three series, the Tigers swept the Titans with 5-1 and 7-1 victories to earn a berth in the South Dakota State Baseball Tournament. Stahlecker, Martens claim Conference titles
The Tea Area High School track and field team turned in an impressive performance at the Eastern South Dakota Conference Track and Field Meet on Saturday, May 16, highlighted by two individual conference champions and one winning relay team. Titans fall to Stevens, defeat Pierre
The Tea Area High School softball team came up just short on Thursday, May 14, falling to Rapid City Stevens 4-3 on a walk-off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning. Tea Area struck first in the opening inning. City council hears golf course proposal
The Tea City Council met May 18 and heard about a possible golf course proposal. Landowner Mike Poppens and developer Steve Van Buskirk presented the idea to develop an 18-hole golf course with 360 residential lots on the south end of the city. The pair wanted to bring the concept of the Hammerhead Golf Course to the council to find out if they should continue to pursue the idea and research more costs. Tea Legion Post 266 Memorial Day program to be held May 25
On Monday, May 25th, the Tea community will come together to honor and remember the brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives in service to our country. The Memorial Day program will commence at 9:30 a.m. at the Tea Legion Post 266, followed by a solemn cemetery ceremony. The morning’s events will begin at the Legion, where attendees will gather to pay tribute to U.S. military personnel who have died in service to the nation. Guest Speaker is Adjutant Dean VanDyke.

Tea Area’s Cadence Micucci wins Congressional Art Competition
U.S. Representative Dusty Johnson (R-S.D.) announced Cadence Micucci from Tea as the winner of the 2026 Congressional Art Competition for South Dakota. Micucci’s mixed media artwork is named “The Original Soldier.” Her piece is pictured at right. Micucci is a sophomore at Tea Area High School. Her art teacher is Angela Kamps. The Tea Area High School softball team faced a challenging stretch of competition last week, dropping games to the Sioux Falls Washington Warriors and the Sioux Falls Roosevelt Rough Riders before bouncing back with an impressive 8-1 victory over the Mitchell Kernels on Monday, May 11. Commissioners approve AED replacements and Justice Center IT equipment purchases
The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday, May 5 in the Lincoln County Boardroom. Commissioners heard agenda items including AED replacement and IT equipment. The Tea Area School District celebrated the accomplishments of the Class of 2026 during its annual JK-12 Graduation Celebration held Monday, May 11, in the Tea Area High School gymnasium. The event recognized graduating seniors for academic achievement, leadership, fine arts, athletics and community involvement.
