Tea Area Girls Make Class AA Debut at 2025 State Golf Tournament

The Tea Area High School girls golf team made school history this week as they competed in the Class AA division for the first time after moving up from Class A last year at the 2025 SDHSAA State Spring Golf Championships. The event was held Monday and Tuesday, June 2-3, at Prairie Green Golf Course in Sioux Falls.

Three Titan golfers qualified for the State Tournament: Kenna Vavra, Abby Munson, and Taylor King. The trio represented Tea Area well among a competitive field of 71 golfers.

Kenna Vavra led the way for the Titans, tying for 41st place overall. She posted a two-day score of 188, opening with a 97 on day one and improving to a 91 on day two. Her final round included four pars.

Abby Munson finished tied for 48th. She shot a 91 on the first day and a 101 on day two for a total of 192.

Taylor King placed 59th, carding a 106 on the first day before bouncing back with a 93 on day two to finish with a 199.

Aberdeen Central’s Olivia Braun claimed the individual state title with an impressive two-day total of 140.
