Titans finish seventh in historic first Class AA State appearance
For only the second time in school history, and for the first time in Class AA, the Tea Area High School girls’ basketball team punched their ticket to State last week with a SoDak 16 win over Harrisburg. The victory sent the Titans to the State AA Tournament held in Rapid City on Thursday, Mar. 12 through Saturday, Mar. 14. Kamps places fifth at State AA Powerlifting
Addison Kamps, a junior from Tea Area High School, competed in the 123-pound class at the South Dakota Class AA Powerlifting Championships held Saturday, Mar. 14, at Sioux Falls Roosevelt. Kamps managed to reach the podium with a fifth-place finish. Her three-lift total was 495 pounds.

City Council hears police department annual report
The Tea City Council met March 16 first as a board of equalization and then for their regular council meeting. The board reviewed two appeals as a board of equalization where they adjourned at 6:23 p.m. Then they opened their regular council meeting at 6:24 p.m. Police Chief Jessica Quigley presented her annual report to the council. Forty-two Tea youth wrestlers qualify for State
Eighty-one Tea youth wrestlers participated in the Region 5 AAU wrestling tournament at Sioux Falls Washington on Saturday, March 14th. The Titans had fifty wrestlers place in the top four at the region tournament. Forty-two of those wrestlers qualified for the SDWCA State Youth Wrestling Tournament to be held in Sioux Falls on March 20th–22nd. 90 Titans youth wrestlers participate in District Tourney
The Tea Youth Wrestling Club participated in the District AAU Wrestling Tournament on Mar. 7 in Lennox. A total of 436 wrestlers competed from Tea, Brandon Valley, West Central, Lennox, Parker, and five Sioux Falls schools. School board to hold special meeting March 23
The Tea Area School Board met March 9. Business manager Chris Esping presented information on the Reliabank line of credit for emergencies. She noted they have never had to use it in the past. EMS funding concerns highlight Lincoln County Commission meeting
The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday, March 3, in the Lincoln County Boardroom. With all members present, the commission heard agenda items including court scanning, ambulance service, and bid awards. Tea Area Community Foundation accepting grant applications
The Tea Area Community Foundation (TACF) is accepting grant applications now until March 27th from Tea area non-profit organizations. Up to $15,000 is available and grants will be awarded in April.
