Titan boys improve to 5-1 with trio of wins
The Tea Area High School boys’ basketball team headed out west last week, facing off against Douglas on Jan. 2 and Sturgis on Jan. 3. The Titans brought home two victories, defeating Douglas 62-40 and Sturgis, 62-40. “It was terrific to get through the long road trip with two victories. The long layoff, combined with the overnight long trip, could have been a crutch, but I thought our boys really handled themselves well mentally and played with an appropriate level of energy.

Structure fire displaces Tea family on New Year’s Eve
A residential structure fire late New Year’s Eve destroyed a home in Tea, displacing the Hastings family and prompting an outpouring of community support. Tea Fire was dispatched to the fire at approximately 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, in the 2500 block of North Devon Avenue. Tea, Harrisburg Hy-Vee stores celebrate grand reopenings with ribbon cuttings
The Harrisburg Hy-Vee and Tea Hy-Vee stores officially celebrated their transitions from Dollar Fresh Market locations with ribbon cutting ceremonies held earlier this week. The events marked the completion of renovations and the introduction of expanded offerings for customers at both locations. City approves rezone from R1 to light industrial
After a lengthy discussion, the Tea City Council approved the rezone from R1-residential to L1-light industrial at their Jan. 5 meeting. Community development director Albert Schmidt said the rezone of the property at 1601 E. 1st Street did not receive any comments from the public even after letters were sent, it was posted in the paper and signs were posted. City Council addresses rezone, budget, and city operations
The Tea City Council met Dec. 15 for their last meeting of 2025. At the meeting, they held a public hearing on the first reading on a rezone for the property at 1601 E. First Street from R1 single-family residential to L1 light industrial district. County approves bond refunding, reviews old courthouse options
With all members present, the Lincoln County Commissioners met Tuesday, Dec. 23 in the Lincoln County boardroom to discuss agenda items. Titan girls open up season with back to back wins
The Tea Area High School girls’ basketball season have recorded two wins to open the season, defeating Sioux City North by a score of 56-25 on Dec. 8 and defeating Huron 64-46 on Friday, Dec. 12. Titans fall in tight one to Huron
On Friday, Dec. 12 the Tea Area High School boys’ basketball team opened their season with a home match-up against Huron. Tea Area jumped to an early 21-6 lead and led 32-24 at the half. County sets airport hangar rates
