Drivers ignoring road closures face fines as roundabout construction begins
With construction underway on a new roundabout at the intersection of 276th Street and 166th Avenue aimed at improving the traffic flow in the area and safety through the intersection. The Tea Area School Board met April 13. Board members heard from continuous school improvement teachers on what they are working on with teachers on the English Language program within the district. City Council approves variance for church sign
The Tea City Council met April 6 and approved a variance for a church sign. The sign for Living Hope Church blew down and asked the council for a variance to erect a new sign. The council approved the size at 45 square feet, 13 feet wide and 7 feet tall. They approved the second reading of ordinance 336, recodification of the city of Tea municipal code of ordinances. Members of the Tea Area High School debate and individual events team wrapped up their competitive season at the South Dakota State Debate and Individual Events Tournament, held March 6-7 at Aberdeen Central High School. The Tea Area High School baseball team opened its doubleheader against T.F. Riggs High School on Sunday, March 29, falling 16-3 in the first game and 10-4 in the second. Titans post strong finishes at Underwood Invite in Brookings
The Tea Area High School track and field team turned in several standout performances Monday, April 6, at the Scott Underwood Invite held at South Dakota State University. Tea Area girls golf returns experienced core, youthful depth for 2026 season
The Tea Area High School girls golf team will open its 2026 season April 16 at Spring Creek Golf Course, with the Titans looking to build on a successful first season in Class AA under third-year head coach Nick Berg. Titans return veteran talent, set high goals for 2026 track season
The Tea Area High School track and field teams enter the 2026 season with momentum, returning a large group of experienced athletes and building on lessons learned during their first full year competing in Class AA. Tea Area softball looks to build on growth entering 2026 season
The Tea Area High School softball team is preparing to open the 2026 season with a focus on continued growth, experience and depth as the Titans return much of last year’s roster under fourth-year head coach Emmie Uitts.
