Saturday in the Park returns Aug. 15, followed by Bites, Brews & Bands

The Tea Chamber for Development will host another full day of community activities this Saturday, Aug. 15, with Saturday in the Park returning to Tea City Park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by the inaugural Bites, Brews & Bands celebration from 5 to 11 p.m.

Saturday in the Park continues its third season of bringing together local businesses, artisans and families for a free community market. Visitors can shop a wide variety of vendors offering handmade goods, boutique items, fresh produce, baked goods, specialty foods and other locally made products. The market also features Kid Biz, providing young entrepreneurs with an opportunity to showcase and sell their creations.

Families can enjoy free bounce houses for children and spend time at Tea City Park’s playground while taking in the community atmosphere. The event also includes live music and food trucks.

Following the daytime event, the celebration will continue with the first-ever Bites, Brews & Bands, a free evening event designed to bring the community together for food, music and fun.

Beginning at 5 p.m., attendees can enjoy dinner from food trucks, visit the beer garden and participate in bingo before the evening’s live entertainment begins. The featured musical act will be Cardboard Saints, performing into the evening.

Food trucks scheduled include The Corndog Company, Southern Perfection BBQ, and Coffee & More. 

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and favorite yard games to enjoy the park while spending time with family and friends.

Saturday in the Park is hosted by the Tea Chamber for Development and is held on the third Saturday of each month from July through October. Organizers say the monthly event continues to grow as a way to support local businesses while providing a family-friendly gathering place for the community.

Admission to both Saturday in the Park and Bites, Brews & Bands is free. Organizers invite residents and visitors alike to spend the day—and evening—enjoying local shopping, food, live entertainment and community fellowship at Tea City Park.
