Tea Area's Mikayla Wevik medals in three State events

Wevik battles in the finals of the 100 meter dash at in Rapid City. She placed fifth in the event.

Ten Titan Track & Field athletes return from State Meet

Mikayla Wevik found herself on the podium not once but three times at the 2015 State A Track and Field held in Spearfish, May 29 and Rapid City, May 30. Wevik placed in the long jump and 100 and 200 meter dashes.

In the 100 meter dash, Wevik clocked 12.82 seconds in the preliminary run to take sixth and qualify for the semi-finals. In the semi-finals, Wevik improved her time to 12.78 seconds, taking fourth to advance to the finals. She placed fifth among the top competitors in the state with a time of 12.83 seconds. In the 200 meter dash, Wevik placed eighth in the prelims with a time of 27.22 seconds to qualify for the finals.
