Day cares on the move

Tina Reyes, left, will join MyTea Tykes 2 as director of the center. She is pictured here with MyTea Tykes’ owner, Chari Eli, in front of the old Oggie’s building at 500 E. First St., which the day care will move in to this fall.
MyTea Tykes to relocate; S.F. child care provider coming to Tea
As one day care (MyTea Tykes Too) is set to move soon, twice, on its way to a new location at the old Oggie’s restaurant building on First Street, another is coming to Tea for the first time.
The timing of the move didn’t quite match up with original plans for MyTea Tykes’ owner, Chari Eli. “I got the call while I was on vacation,” she said. Her business’ month-to-month lease on the MyTea Tykes Too location at 725 E. Kevin Drive was up and the new tenant (Star Performance) was set to move in, before renovations to the Oggie’s space would be completed.
But, Eli says, the benefits of living in a small town pulled her through. A group of nearly 100 children and employees will temporarily call Living Hope Community Church home until Eli can relocate the business to its new building. “I’m so thankful we’re part of a small town community,” Eli said.
