Your Balanced Body offers one stop shopping for hair, health services
Your Balanced Body owner Miriam Oye in the waiting area of her shop at First St. and Carla Ave. in Tea.
Miriam Oye followed her love of hair from high school to cosmetology school and began work in beauty services in the mid-1990s. Most recently, she worked for several years at Tea’s Beauty Nook.
“Hair was my first love,” she says. “Now I’ve been in the business for 20 years and I still love what I do.”
In 2008, two members of Oye’s family were battling cancer. She lost a brother to the disease, and an aunt a few years later. In part because of these losses, Oye studied nutritional therapy to help others take control of their health and make their insides as well-kept as their outsides.
After discussing hair styling options with clients, the talk invariably turns to health and family, Oye says, and now she is able to offer assistance in those areas as well.
