District enrollment surpasses 1,600

As of Monday, the district has just over 1,600 students enrolled for the next school year. Registration and photo day will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the high school on Aug. 25 and school begins on Sept. 8.

“Things are coming together quickly,” construction manager Clair Willemssen told the school board during a construction update at their Monday meeting. He noted that asphalt work was completed last week at Frontier Elementary and sidewalks should be done this week. He said it’s down to miscellaneous odds and ends like finishing touchups on paint, drywall and flooring and that lettering and signage for the building should arrive soon. Furniture and equipment will be moved in late next week. Seeding of the grass areas is expected to take place early to mid-September.
