Tea Weekly welcomes new editor

Independent Publishing, L.L.C. is proud to announce Wendy Sweeter as the new editor at Tea Weekly.

Sweeter grew up on a farm near Hartford and graduated from Tri-Valley High School. In 2003, she graduated from South Dakota State University with a degree in ag journalism. She began her career as a reporter for Tri-State Neighbor. After one year, she was named editor and continued in that position for eight years.

“My husband, Kurtis, and I have been married for 12 years,” said Sweeter. “In 2012, I quit to stay home with our two children, Karin and Bode.”

She continued writing, however, free-lancing for various publications in South Dakota and nationally. She also runs her own photography business and works as the Arts Center coordinator for the Sioux Empire Fair.

When she does manage to find some free time, Sweeter enjoys reading and volunteering at her church and in the community.

“We are so excited to have someone with Wendy’s experience joining our staff at Tea Weekly,” said Publisher Kelli Bultena.

Office hours at the Tea office have changed to reflect the new editor’s schedule. The office will be open from 8 to 11 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday and on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. or by appointment.
