TAHS Coronation Ceremony held Monday


Monday, Sept. 21 the Royalty Court waited with anticipation in the TAHS gym as last year’s King and Queen, Jordan Fechner and Jensen Twite crowned this year’s Homecoming King and Queen, Coleman Peterson and Cayley Schmitt.

The ceremony began with kindergarten coronation carriers bringing in the crowns and flowers, they included: Bailey Miller, Ryker Herman, Brandt Greve, and Ozzy Johnson.

Mr. DeBoer, Tea Area High School Athletic Director welcomed students and community members in attendance. The High School Choir sang the Star Spangled Banner. Also providing special music was Kendra Jefferson, who sang No One by Alicia Keys. The High School Band played the school song while the cheerleaders preformed. Many of the coaches addressed the audience with their recaps on the start of the season. The Sports Boosters also recognized the coaches and activity leaders with a gift.

Homecoming week activities continued throughout the week and will conclude Friday with a parade, football game and Homecoming dance. The Parade will begin at 1:30 p.m., the parade route is the same as last year, pictured on page 7.

The football game, Tea Titans vs. Bridgewater-Emery-Ethan is scheduled to kick-off at 7 p.m. followed by a high school Homecoming dance from 9 to 11 p.m.
