Carnival, Parade, Fireworks…The fun doesn’t stop during Teapot Days Celebration

Wednesday morning Tea residents could tell something was coming, as city workers were seen working at the City Park and the Mighty Thomas Carnival began to set up the Carnival rides on Brian Street. The community was preparing for this weekend’s annual Teapot Days! This event, held June 14-17, grows more popular each year and features fun events for people of all ages.

The Mighty Thomas Carnival, located on Brian St. next to the park, was set to open Thursday at 5 p.m. Wristband vouchers will allow unlimited rides at one of the following times: Thursday and Friday from 5 to 10 p.m., Saturday from 12 to 5 p.m. or 5 to 10 p.m. Individual tickets will be on sale at the carnival for $1 a ticket (it takes about 3 to 6 tickets per ride). Wristband vouchers will be on sale at the carnival for $22 each.

Arlon and Sandra Knock were to be crowned Ma & Pa Teapot at the Tea Community Hall on Thursday at 7 p.m. Ma and Pa Teapot are often seen at the start of the Parade each year.

Friday, an Antique Tractor and Equipment Display will be set up at Tea Community Hall.

Also on Friday, the Tea-fest Hot Rod Show & Shine will be held at the Tea Athletic Complex with registration at 5 p.m. A $10 entry fee includes a free t-shirt. The show will be free to the public and open from 6 to 9 p.m. This event is sponsored by Octane Inc.

On Friday parents can also register kids, ages 3 to 11, for the Kids Pedal Pull at 6:30 p.m. at the Tea City Park. Pulling starts at 7 p.m.

Friday night will end with the Tea Steak House Outdoor Concert. The band Driven will play from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. and will be free for ages 18 and up.
