Seeing green: TAPPS raises funds with color run

Adding a splash of literal color to Homecoming, the TAPPS (Tea Area Parents for Prom Safety) volunteers put on a color run to raise funds for the 2019 after prom party.
The run took place at 3:30 p.m. after the homecoming parade at the Tea City Park and was held in multiple waves. Runners ran a 3/4 of a mile course throughout the park while getting doused in color powder as they trekked past various color stations on the trail.
Two hundred and eight participants registered for the race and approximately $3,000 was raised for the after prom party.
A list of sponsors, who are gladly thanked by the TAPPS are as follows: Dance 2 Studio, Fitness First of Tea, Fuller & Williamson, LLP, J&R Mechanical, Keez Property Management, Neighborhood Dental, POET, RBS Sanitation, Reliabank, Roger’s Country Produce, Sabers Insurance, Sunshine Foods, Tea American Legion, Tea Tots Childcare Center, Harold Podaratzky - balloon maker, Runner’s Block - bags for registrants, City of Tea - use of the Tea City Park, and St. Nicholas Catholic Church - parking.
