Get to know your school board: John Herr, board president

Tea Area school board president John Herr became a member of the Board of Education 13 years ago.

Herr, who has lived in Tea since 1995 and grew up in Tripp, wanted on the school board because the district was growing and he had been involved with the pre-split from Lennox by helping with sample budgets. Wayne Larsen’s board position came open when he took the business manager position so Herr decided to run.

“I’m intrigued and I’m interested in continuing to see how we expand and how we manage the expansion. I let the educational part be handled by the professionals that know that,” he said.
