Get to know your school board: Conrad Pick, board vice-president
Conrad Pick is the Vice President of the Tea Area school board. Originally from Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, Pick has called Tea home for 27 years. His work at Scheel’s, of which he’s now retired from, is what brought him to the area.
During his time at Tea, Pick has served on the school board for three terms. Each school board term is three years and Pick is one year into his third term, adding up to a total of seven years that he has so far served the community of Tea.
Pick first joined the school board to help get the ball rolling on progress a few years after the Tea Area School District split from Lennox. He explained, “We didn’t feel we were accomplishing some of the goals that we had set, so through turnover in administration and teachers, I thought that I’d run for school board to right the ship.”
