Titan boys look to earn back to back State titles

The Tea Area High School boys’ soccer team is headed back to the State Championship game for the third straight year, following their 2-0 victory over Vermillion on Saturday, Oct. 6 in semi-final action.

Tea Area and Vermillion began action on the cold autumn Saturday at 2 in the afternoon. Despite having three shots on goal, the Titans were unable to find the back of the net in the opening half. Vermillion, having only one shot on goal, was also held scoreless, leaving the game 0-0 heading into the second half.

However, it didn’t take long for the Titans to get going after halftime. Tea Area came out and grabbed control early as Justin Hohn found Wilson Hoffman for the Titans’ first goal of the game. Tea Area extended their lead when Colby Fechner got a goal off the corner rebound, giving the Titans the 2-0 advantage and eventual win.
