Titans move to semi-finals

Despite losing their starting quarterback midway into the second quarter, the Tea Area Titan football team defeated Hot Spring, 33-0, in the opening round of playoffs last Thursday, Oct. 25.

Both Hunter West and Luke Elkins were sidelined early in the game against Hot Springs, West with an ankle injury and Elkins with a broken leg. However, the Titans didn’t let that stop them.

In the opening quarter, Tea Area’s Carter Slykhuis took the hand off 26 yards for the touchdown. Kade Stearns found Joe Walnofer for the two point conversion, giving the Titans an early 8-0 lead.

In the second quarter, Slykhuis once again found the endzone, scoring from one yard out. Stearns kicked through the extra point as Tea Area went up 15-0.
