Titan girls ready to hit the court for 2018-19 season

Under the direction of new head coach, Adam Schorzmann, the Tea Area High School girls’ basketball team is ready for the upcoming 2018-19 season.

Schorzmann was a two year graduate assistant coach with the women’s basketball team at Dakota Wesleyan and a four year assistant coach for the boys basketball program in Harrisburg, before landing in Tea. He replaces Ryan Decker as head Titans coach.

Schorzmann knew he wanted to coach basketball after being around motivational coaches during his youth.

“Basketball was always a big deal around my hometown of Mitchell-Mt. Vernon,” said Schorzmann. “I want to motivate and inspire athletes the way I was inspired growing up. My passion for the sport stems from being around student athletes and trying to get them to fight through adversity and work together towards a common goal…there is nothing more rewarding.”

Schorzmann, who will be assisted by Rachel Hangman, Rick Willemssen, and Sidney Clayberg this season, is looking forward to having a great season on the court with a strong number of returning athletes.
