Titan boys continue to roll
On Friday, Dec. 14 the Tea Area High School boys’ basketball team hosted Dell Rapids and used a 18-12 second quarter to get the 80-60 victory over the Quarriers.
“It was nice to get another conference win over a good Dell Rapids team,” said Titan head coach Chris Fechner. “They are young right now but they will be tough come tourney time.”
The Titans had all five starters in double figures with Kaleb Joffer earning a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds.
“I liked the pace we started the game with. We did a really good defensively in stretches which allowed us to get in transition, which is where we are at our best. We got some quality minutes from the bench as well, so we are starting to find our rotations with guys and who can come in and contribute right away,” added Fechner.
Noah Freidel led the team in scoring with 19 points on the night. He also had seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
Mason Ritter had 12 points, four rebounds and one assists. Kade Stearns and Justin Hohn each provided 11 points. Hohn led the team in assists with eight. He also had four rebounds and two steals. Stearns had six rebounds, two assists and one steal. Joe Walnofer had six points in the game, Jack Unruh finished with four and Colby Fechner had two points on the night along with two assists and two steals.
