Four missing snowmobilers from Tea found

It was a Christmas miracle last week as four missing snowmobilers from the Tea area were found after going missing during in the Southern area of Wyoming.

On Dec. 23 at 6:00 p.m., the Albany County Sheriff’s Department in Wyoming received a report of four overdue snowmobilers in the Snowy Range Ski Area, which is west of Laramie, Wyoming. The missing snowmobilers were Zach, Cole, and Miah Christensen and Jim Bruining, of the Tea area. WYO4 reported that the group was staying at the Albany Lodge and they never checked out of their hotel rooms when they were due to do so.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, the 2015 Chevy Silverado truck and trailer that the group rode in on was located unoccupied at an location called the Green Rock parking lot alongside Highway 130.

After days of searching, it was on Christmas day that substantial progress started being made. According to WYO4 News, it was stated that the lost party was located that night by air in Carbon County in the Deep Creek area on Dec. 25. A helicopter located four riders and snowmobiles matching the description of the missing group. This was after air search efforts were called off on the night before due to weather conditions and air search had later resumed at 1:30 p.m.
