Titans get trio of wins

Back to back games last week, resulted in two more wins for the Tea Area High School boys basketball team.

The Titans faced off against Madison on Friday, Jan. 4 and came away with the 78-43 victory.

“I thought we played a very focused game against Madison. Anytime you are playing a rival, you need to be prepared for a tough game,” said Titan head coach Chris Fechner. “Preparing for back-to-back opponents causes challenges, but I thought the guys played to the game plan and executed on both ends of the floor very well. We had a great crowd for the game and their energy certainly helped us.”

Tea Area took control early and never looked back, outscoring Madison 20-9 in the opening quarter. Tea Area shot over 50 percent in the game while Madison shot just over 29 percent.

Three Titans were in double figures on the night with Noah Freidel leading the way with 22 points. Justin Hohn had 17 and Kade Stearns 14. Freidel hit three three pointers in the game and five of his six foul shots. He also grabbed six rebounds and had three assists and two steals. Hohn finished with five rebounds, two steals and a team-high nine assists. Stearns hit two three pointers in the game, grabbed five rebounds and recorded one assist.
