Tea Council approves site plan for 12-plex

The Tea City Council zipped through the agenda of their January 21 meeting and wrapped up their business in a compact yet efficient half hour.

After approving the agenda, the January 7 meetings, and the January warrants, the council progressed to holding a public hearing for the transfer of the off sale liquor license from Sunshine Foods, which was listed as Tea Liquor, Inc. on the notice for the public hearing, to Fareway Stores, Inc. No members of the public were in attendance to give any comment for the public hearing.

The council discussed and approved a variety of zoning issues. First up was the approval of the plat of Lot 4, Block 3, of the Bakker Landing, which was approved unanimously by the council after a motion by Todd Boots and a second by Jim Erck.

Next, the council approved the plat of Tract 5A, 5B, and 5C, of the Gors Addition in Section 22 of Lincoln County after a motion by Casey Voelker, seconded by Joe Weis.

Finally, the Schwartzle 12 plex site plan was reviewed by the council for the construction of two 12-plex multi-family buildings in the Carl Soukup Addition. According to the site plan that was given to the council, the property is set to have 32 parking spaces per lot, including 14 garage spots. The report also mentions that the site plan meets the requirements for setbacks, parking, landscaping, and dumpster screening.

The council unanimously approved the site plan after a motion by Voelker and a second by Weis. An agreement between the City of Tea and HDR Engineering for professional services was looked at but was postponed for approval until the next council meeting.
