In a game that featured 22 lead changes, the Tea Area High School boys’ basketball team was able to come out on top over rivals, the Lennox Orioles, getting the 68-67 win at the buzzer Saturday night, Feb. 9.
Tea took a commanding 15-6 lead after one quarter of play only to watch the Orioles sneak right back in, outscoring the Titans 16-6 in the second quarter, giving Lennox the 22-21 lead at the half.
“This was certainly a great game with Lennox. We played a great first quarter and they equaled it with a great second quarter,” said Titan head coach Chris Fechner. “I thought we settled way too much in that quarter for perimeter shots and then spent a lot of time on defense. We struggled defending their offense and they shot the ball very well.”
