Tea Area Community Fund awards grants
The Tea Area Community Fund recently awarded $11,000 in grants to help local nonprofit organizations.
“Our endowment fund continues to grow because of strong community support, and we were thrilled to be able to award a record amount of money this year,” TACF President Sandy Cheney said. “We would love to be able to fund all of the grant requests we receive but interest was exceptionally high, with applications totaling more than $24,000. Our committee had to make some tough decisions because there were so many outstanding projects and proposals.”
Committee members awarded this year’s grants April 20 during their annual meeting. This is the 14th year that the TACF, an endowment fund of the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation, has funded grants to support projects that benefit and enhance the quality of life for Tea area residents. The presentation took place at Tea City Hall.
