Golfers place third at Regions

Eric Munson captured third place at the Region 2A boys’ golf tournament held at Spring Creek Golf Course on Monday, Sept. 30.
Munson shot a 79 to lead the Titans to a third place finish as a team, qualifying the entire team for the State A Tournament which will be held next Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 7 and 8.
Munson shot a 41 on the front nine and a 38 on the back nine to take third place. The Titans’ Cooper Leslie and Keeton Newborg tied for eighth place, each shooting an 82 on the day. Leslie shot a 42 on the front nine and a 40 on the back nine. Newborg shot a 40 on the front nine and a 42 on the back.
Carter Jongeling finished with a 93 on the day, tying him for 26th place. He shot a 46 on the front nine and a 47 on the back. Fyrst Henriksen also competed for the Titans, finishing the day with a 101 after hitting a 50 on the front nine and a 51 on the back.
Winning the Region Tournament was Dalton Plucker from Lennox with a score of 77. Sioux Falls Christian won the team title, Lennox took second, Vermillion fourth, Dakota Valley fifth, West Central sixth, Canton seventh, Beresford eighth, and Elk Point Jefferson ninth.
