Two Tea Area High School choir students, brothers Mathew (Senior) and Jacob (Sophomore) Birger, had the opportunity of a lifetime as they participated in the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) National Honor Choir and Conference in Dallas, Texas, from March 19-22.
Mathew was selected for the prestigious 11th-12th Grade SATB Honor Choir, while Jacob earned a spot in the 7th-10th Grade Tenor/Bass Honor Choir. The brothers, accompanied by their families, traveled to Texas, where they spent their days in intensive rehearsals alongside talented singers from across the country.
The experience culminated in finale concerts at two renowned venues—Mathew performed at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, while Jacob took the stage at the Winspear Opera House. Under the direction of esteemed conductors Randy Stenson (TTBB Choir) and Chris Maunu (SATB Choir), the students were able to hone their vocal skills and performed in unforgettable showcases.
