Council approves two ordinances

The Tea City Council approved two ordinances at the July 15 meeting.
The council approved the second reading of ordinance 317, an ordinance rezoning tracts 1-3 of Harvard Industrial Park Addition from ag to L1, light industrial district and amending the official zoning map for the city.
They also approved the second reading of ordinance 318, an ordinance rezoning phase 2, GC Estates Addition from ag to R2, residential district and amending the official zoning map for the city.
They held the first reading of ordinance 319, an ordinance amending the municipal ordinances of the city of Tea by amending chapter 1, adding section 1.03, establishing a schedule for introduction and adoption of the annual municipal budget ordinance.
The council approved an amendment to the personnel employee handbook. The amendment changes when police officers can receive overtime. They changed it from 86 hours per pay period to 84 hours per period when overtime kicks in.
They approved the annexation request for lot 1B, Tempo Addition to be annexed into the city. The council approved the site and building plans (foundation and shell) for Creston Strip Mall 2 at 106 Venture Place in Bakker Landing Addition.
The council approved the revised Tea zoning ordinance from Confluence. They reviewed the master transportation plan update.
They approved the special event alcohol sales permit for Aug. 24 for Sky Lounge and Titans Tavern.
Lincoln County emergency manager Harold Timmerman gave an update to the city.
They approved the building plans for Ideal Wedding and Maker’s Market, both in Bakker Landing Addition.
