Embrace Church breaks ground on new Tea campus

Embrace Church broke ground on Sunday, Apr. 23 on a new 24,000 square-foot home for its Tea Campus across the street from their current location.

The new project will include a sanctuary that seats 600 people, classrooms and worship spaces for young children and students, and a multi-purpose gym space.

“There are so many people who are struggling, from depression to addiction to loneliness. Our greatest hope is that Embrace is a place where anyone can hear about the hope found in Jesus. One of the biggest barriers we’ve encountered is having enough seats and parking for the new people we have coming through our doors every Sunday,” said Adam Weber, Embrace’s Lead Pastor.

“Attendance is up 28% since this time last year and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down,” added Weber.

Last month Embrace completed a capital campaign that raised more than $4.7 million in just over 5 months. In addition to raising money for the new Tea Campus, the campaign also added an expanded entryway and bathrooms, sanctuary seats and parking spots to its 57th Street Campus in southeast Sioux Falls, along with a ministry that will minister to the cast aside and overlooked that is yet to be announced.

“The recent growth in the Tea community and southwest Sioux Falls along with the rapid growth we’ve seen as a church makes it an exciting time to green light our new space,” said Travis Waltner, Tea Campus Pastor. “Building a larger home for our Tea Campus means there will be a seat for anyone who decides to join us.”

Embrace’s Tea Campus is one of three physical campuses in the Sioux Falls area. Embrace also has an online campus and nine network church locations throughout South Dakota and Minnesota.

Completion of the new Tea Campus is estimated for Spring 2024.
