The City of Tea has partially lifted the ban of fireworks for July 3rd and 4th only.

The City of Tea held a special meeting on June 28, 2021. The purpose of the special meeting was to allow for public input regarding the ban on fireworks.

Several citizens offered suggestions how it could be allowed. Ultimately, Council passed the motion to allow fireworks on July 3 and 4 and to remove water restrictions from June 28 to July 5.

Tea Volunteer Fire Department reminded residents to make sure to have a bucket of water or a garden hose ready, just in case of emergency while shooting fireworks. The Fire Department also recommended leaving your fireworks at the curb until the next day to prevent a fire. Shot fireworks are still a hazard and may be still hot. Another reminder was to be courteous and pick up all debris from shot fireworks.
