First day of school set for Aug. 16

Next week students in the Tea Area School District will be heading back to the classrooms.

The first day of school for all students in the Tea Area School District is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 16.

At Frontier Elementary families are invited to the Meet the Teacher Event scheduled for Aug. 14. Students are encouraged to bring their school supplies with them to this meeting to minimize the supplies they will need to carry to school on the first day. Each family should have received a message from your child’s classroom teacher inviting you to sign-up for a 15-minute meeting that day. If you did not receive one, please reach out to the school. School pictures will also be taken on Aug. 14 during the Meet the Teacher Event. Allow time either before or after your child’s classroom visit to stop by the picture booth in the gym.

Photos will also be taken for Tea Area Legacy Elementary Students on Aug. 14. Pictures will be taken in the Legacy Elementary Commons on Aug. 14 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Venture Elementary student photos will be taken on Aug. 14 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Venture Elementary. All students will be photographed, picture packets are optional.

On Thursday, Aug. 10, middle school and high school students were to pick up their chromebooks, check lunch accounts, and take their school photos from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the High School.

Freshmen picnic with families will be held Aug. 14 from 4:55 p.m. to 5:25 p.m. Freshmen Orientation will follow. The Open House at the High School will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a picnic for grades 10-12 scheduled for 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.

Students at Frontier Elementary will begin their first day of school at 8:05 a.m. (Breakfast is served from 7:40 a.m. to 8 a.m.) Bus and daycare students are dismissed at 3 p.m. with walkers and pick-up students dismissed at 3:05 p.m.

Students at Legacy Elementary begin their day at 8:15 a.m. (Breakfast is served from 7:55 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.). Walkers are dismissed at 3:10 p.m., daycare students at 3:20 p.m. and bus students at 3:22 p.m.

Venture Elementary students begin their day at 8:05 a.m. (Breakfast is served from 7:40 a.m. to 8 a.m.) Bus and daycare students are dismissed at 3 p.m. with walkers and pick-up students dismissed at 3:05 p.m.

Tea Area Middle School students begin their day at 8:05 a.m. (Breakfast served from 7:45 a.m. to 8:05 a.m.) Walkers and pick-up students are dismissed at 3:10 p.m. and bus students are dismissed at 3:15 p.m.

Bell schedule for Tea Area High School is period 1 beginning at 8:10 a.m. Bus students are dismissed at 3:10 p.m.
