Ground breaking held for new Koch Insurance building

Insurance isn’t always something we want to think about or choose to spend our time handling. Koch Insurance has been in South Dakota for over 65 years. With Royal M. Koch starting the business in Tyndall, South Dakota back in 1953. The business has since expanded to include offices in Tabor, Springfield, Yankton and Tea along with the original Tyndall location. Currently operating the office in Tea is Marty Koch and his children Courtney, who joined the team in 2011, and Austin who joined the team in 2014. The company has 11 employees statewide.

Koch Insurance in Tea has most recently been located in the Park Plaza building for the last five years. Due to their lease running out and the expansion of another business, the company decided it was time to construct their own building.

Koch Insurance will be moving to their own building in August. The construction of the new professional building is being handled by Beck & Hofer Construction out of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The team had their groundbreaking ceremony last Wednesday on March 31st. The new building will have three units, with two units still available for tenants. Each unit is approximately 1,100 square feet. Koch Insurance isn’t simply looking to grow their business and grow their staff by moving, the move will give them a permanent home and a space to call their own. The team isn’t moving far, and they will still be able to provide their customers with the same service they always have. Their motto according to Marty Koch is to, “provide a tradition of personal service.”

He said the team wants to be there to help you with all your insurance needs. Koch Insurance offers the following types of insurance: auto, home, life, health, farm and commercial lines.
