King Konrad and Queen Babb to reign over Homecoming festivities

Monday night, Sept. 8 Tea Area High School held their annual Coronation ceremony at the new Performing Arts Center. 

The evening opened with the band and cheerleaders providing pre-event entertainment. Activities Director, Craig Clayberg, welcomed everyone. 

The Kronos Concert Choir sang the Star Spangled Banner and entertainment was provided by the Titan Dance Team and a duet was performed by Meredith Decker and Ryan Decker. Speakers for the night were Skylynn Broesder and Jaxon Johanneson. Daschle Lowery and Cole Northrup also presented a Homecoming video. 

The highlight of the night was the crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen by last year’s royalty Delainey Burrack and Jacob Jongejeugd. Crowned the 2025 Queen was Jaycie Babb. Crowned the 2025 King was Brenner Konrad. 

Other Royalty candidates for 2025 included Ava Opland, Meredith Decker, Emma Watson, Ellie Clayberg, Daschle Lowery, Chase Deboer, Carter Christensen, and Juv Banza. 

Homecoming week festivities wrap up this weekend. 

On Friday, Sept. 12 a Pep Rally will be held at the high school at 11:30 a.m. The Tea Area Homecoming Parade will take place on Friday, Sept. 12 at 1:30 p.m. Parade line-up will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the on the north end of the high school parking lot. 

The parade route will move east on Brian Street from the Middle School, head south on Main Ave., west on Holly and north on Cole. 

Following Friday afternoon’s parade the Tailgating will begin in the high school parking lot at 4 p.m. featuring a variety of food trucks (Central Perk, Marc O’s Festival Foods, Harry’s Yellow Submarine, and The Corn Dog Co.). There will also be a Hall of Fame Reception at the football field that evening. The Titan football game against Huron will kick-off at 6 p.m. that evening.
