King Turek and Queen Gass to reign over Homecoming festivities


Monday night, Sept. 11 Tea Area High School held their annual Coronation ceremony. The evening opened with the young Titan Coronation carriers, they included: Ellie Stich, Oliver Edwards, Meredith Parr, Brooks Bak, Reese Stanhope and Porter Fink.

Entertainment was provided by the Kronos Concert Choir, High School Band, Cheerleaders, and the TAHS Dance Team.

The highlight of the night was the crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen by last year’s royalty Nathan Babb and Lydia Decker.

Introducing the royalty candidates were Claire Hank and Delainey Burrack.

Crowned the 2023 King was Carter Turek. Crowned the 2023 Queen was Jenna Gass. Other Royalty candidates for 2023 included Mara Grant, Rylan Konrad, Haidyn West, Hannah West, Sam Almas, Keegan DeYoung, Garrett Wiebenga, and Jessen Wiebenga. Homecoming week festivities wrap up this weekend.

The Tea Area Homecoming Parade will take place on Friday, September 15 at 1:30 p.m.

Parade line-up will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the Tea Area Middle School parking lot. Parade line-up will occur in the order in which floats arrive.

The parade route will move east on Brian Street from the Middle School, head south on Main Ave., west on Charish Street and north on Cole Ave.

Following Friday afternoon’s parade the Tailgating will begin in the high school parking lot at 4 p.m. There will be a Hall of Fame Reception at the football field at 4 p.m. The Titan football game against Douglas will kick-off at 6 p.m. that evening.

On Saturday, Sept. 16 the Competitive Dance team will perform at Brookings at 11 a.m.
