Lincoln County activates burn ban immediately

Lincoln County Emergency Management, after consultation with the fire departments in the county, has activated the county burn ban. The burn ban prohibits all open burning until sufficient moisture is received to mitigate the dry conditions within the county. A copy of the burn ban can be found on the county web site at lincolncountysd.org.

The burn ban does not ban fireworks, however everyone is reminded to be extremely careful with all fireworks. A small spark can cause a large fire.
