State bound 14U Titans capture Region 6A title, punch ticket to State



The 14U Tea Titans VFW baseball team claimed the Region 6A Championship title, punching their ticket to the State Tournament. The Titans defeated Lennox, 14-4 to win the Championship. They began Region play with a 16-9 victory over Canton and then defeated Lennox, 12-10 before facing them once again after Lennox defeated Dakota Valley, 13-12.

The Titans face off against Milbank on Friday, July 21 at 12:00 p.m. in Elk Point, SD in the opening game of the State Tournament.

Also qualifying were the teams from Mobridge, Vermillion, Madison (Black), Belle Fourche, West Central, and Elk Point Jefferson. Should Tea win on Friday they will play again on Saturday, July 22 at 3:30 p.m. with the Championship game slated for Sunday, July 23 at 3:30 p.m.

The Consolation Championship will be played Sunday, July 23 at 11 a.m. Third and fourth place games will be played on Sunday, July 23 at 1 p.m. Opening ceremonies will follow after game 2 (approximately 4:45 p.m.) on Friday, July 21.
