Tea Area Homecoming to be celebrated Sept. 7-12

Homecoming festivities begin this weekend with the tLINK Kickball Tournament at the Tea City Athletic Complex beginning at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 7. That evening, beginning at 6:30 p.m. a Powderpuff Football game will be played at the Titan Athletic Complex.
The Theme for this year’s Homecoming is “This or That”.
Festivities continue on Monday, Sept. 8 with Coronation taking place at the high school Performing Arts Center, beginning at 7 p.m. One of the highlights of that event is the crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen.
This year’s royalty court is pictured at right and includes, Meredith Decker, Emma Watson, Jaycie Babb, Ellie Clayberg, Ava Opland; Daschle Lowery, Brenner Konrad, Chase DeBoer, Carter Christensen, and Juv Banza.
On Tuesday, Sept. 9 events continue with the Varsity boys’ golf team competing at the Hiawatha Golf Club for a 4:15 p.m. match. At 4 p.m. a double header soccer match-up against Sioux Falls Washington gets underway. The varsity girls are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. followed by the boys at 6 p.m. At 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the Titan volleyball team will travel to Brookings.
On Wednesday, Sept. 10 Senior athletes and the Homecoming Court will go on Elementary Building for visits and lunch visits.
On Thursday, Sept. 11 the Titan volleyball team will be at O’Gorman with the varsity scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. The Cheer and Dance team will be competing in Yankton at 5 p.m.
On Friday, Sept. 13 a Pep Rally will be held at the high school at 11:30 a.m.
The Tea Area Homecoming Parade will take place on Friday, Sept. 12 at 1:30 p.m. Parade line-up will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the on the north end of the high school parking lot.
The parade route is featured above at left, and will move east on Brian Street from the Middle School, head south on Main Ave., west on Holly and north on Cole.
Following Friday afternoon’s parade the Tailgating will begin in the high school parking lot at 4 p.m. featuring a variety of food trucks (Central Perk, Marc O’s Festival Foods, Harry’s Yellow Submarine, and The Corn Dog Co.). There will also be a Hall of Fame Reception at the football field that evening. The Titan football game against Huron will kick-off at 6 p.m. that evening.
There will be dress-up days throughout the week as well. District-wide days include: Country Club vs. Country/Western on Monday, Sept. 8; Students Dress as Teachers vs. Teachers Dress as Students on Tuesday, Sept. 9; Winter Holidays vs. Summer Holidays on Wednesday, Sept. 10; Class Colors on Thursday, Sept. 11; and Titan Spirit Day on Friday, Sept. 12.
