The streets of Tea shone brightly with Christmas cheer on Saturday, November 30, as the community gathered for the first annual Parade of Lights. Hosted by the Tea Chamber for Development, the event marked the beginning of the holiday season with festive floats, music, and family-friendly activities.

Kicking off at 6:15 p.m., the parade route began near Tea Area High School and wound its way along Brian Street and Main Street, concluding at the Tea Sports Complex. Spectators were treated to an array of dazzling and creative floats showcasing local businesses and organizations, each lit up to celebrate the season. Pictured above is a snapshot from the event. Following the parade, attendees gathered at the Tea American Legion for even more holiday festivities. The Legion hosted a chili cook-off, drawing crowds eager to enjoy a warm meal on a chilly evening. Adding to the holiday spirit, the Tea High School Choir performed classic Christmas carols, creating a festive soundtrack for the evening’s events.

The celebration’s highlight came with the lighting of a Christmas tree outside the Legion, led by none other than Santa Claus himself. Arriving in a fire truck during the parade, Santa delighted children and families, marking his first appearance of the season in Tea.

The Parade of Lights served as a community-focused event, designed to bring holiday joy on a smaller, more accessible scale compared to larger city parades. The Tea Chamber for Development and event organizers succeeded in creating a welcoming atmosphere for families to come together, celebrate, and enjoy the start of the Christmas season.
