The Tea Steam pulled off a dramatic come‑from‑behind win over the Garretson Bluejays on Sunday, July 20, edging them 14–13 in a high‑scoring contest.

Garretson opened the game with a huge first inning, scoring six runs thanks to a string of singles and a three‑run home run. The Bluejays added three more in the second on a homer and pushed their lead to 13–0 by the middle of the fourth.

But the Tea Steam refused to fold. Tea’s bats came alive in the bottom of the fourth, sparked by a walk and back‑to‑back singles. Patience at the plate and timely hits—including a two‑RBI single from Nathan Babb and a single from Troy Ljunggren—cut the deficit. Then, with runners on, Trey Heckenlaible crushed a three‑run homer to right field, bringing Tea within striking distance at 13–10.

The momentum carried into the fifth inning. After a pair of walks loaded the bases, Tea’s lineup continued to apply pressure, drawing more walks and pushing runs across. By the time the dust settled, Tea had scored 14 unanswered runs between the fourth and fifth innings to take a 14–13 lead.

Garretson threatened again in the later frames, but Tea’s pitching and defense clamped down, retiring the side in order and securing the thrilling comeback victory. Handling pitching duties were Braxton Muller who pitched two innings and recorded one strike-out. Logan Boom also pitched two innings, recording one strike-out. Carter Doescher pitched one inning, recording one strike out.

The Steam was scheduled to host the Renner Rangers on Sunday, July 27. Districts are set to begin on Thursday, July 31.
